University of Northern Colorado’s Monfort College of Business (MCB) was recently reaccredited in business and accounting by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) programs, underscoring the college’s outstanding leadership, faculty, curriculum and students.

Recognizing and overcoming the barrier of stigma toward persons with disabilities is the goal of a new research project from Jill Bezyak, professor of Rehabilitation Counseling and Sciences. She's hoping her efforts to test newly developed tools designed to mitigate negative bias are successful, providing persons with disabilities with more employment opportunities and ultimately, a better quality of life.

Lena Kisner’s passion for early childhood special education spurred her investigation of preschool inclusion rates in rural Kansas schools. She’s a special education director, overseeing children from birth to age 21 for five interlocal school districts.

Beginning fall 2023, all UNC students will have more unique and diverse opportunities to pursue music and art during their college careers. To meet the increasing demand for new GIS and drone technologies, the Department of Geography, GIS and Sustainability is launching two new GIS certificates in fall 2023, GIS and Cartography and Drone Operations and Spatial Analytics.

Growing up in Greeley in the 1960s and 1970s as an only child, Dr. Mary Jo Drew ‘79 had, as she put it, an idyllic childhood. With two encouraging and ahead-of-their-time parents, she was allowed to follow her interests wherever they led. A self-proclaimed “science geek,” she had to know more about everything around her, whether it be rocks, the clouds in the sky or the organs in the human body.

Sarai Atchison ‘19 has always had a passion for sports, but in college she took a more active role creating opportunities to play for herself and her classmates.

Ten UNC students traveled to Memphis, Tennessee to help clean up the Mississippi River. The trip was part of GEO 111, a course designed to give students hands-on field experience and equip them to use that experience to solve real-world problems.
