Descriptive Guide to Skinner Music Library

Locations in Skinner Music Library are listed below, starting from the main entrance doors. The list starts with the locations nearest the doors, first to the left of the doors, then to the right.

On the Left

• Media Classroom (103)

  On the left

• Computer Commons

  Proceed straight past the Media Classroom (103) and an alcove. The Computer Commons is on the left.

• Ramp

  Proceed straight past the Media Classroom (103) and Computer Commons. The ramp is ahead on the left. Please note that there is a column slightly to the left as you approach the ramp.

• Printers

  Proceed straight past the Media Classroom (103) and Computer Commons. Proceed down a short flight of stairs, then turn left. The printers are on the left.

• Oversize Items

  Proceed straight past the Media Classroom (103) and Computer Commons. Proceed down a short flight of stairs, then turn left. The oversize items are ahead and slightly to the right.

• Periodicals

  Proceed straight past the Media Classroom (103) and Computer Commons. Proceed down a short flight of stairs, past the printers and oversize items. The periodicals are on the left.

• Study Alcoves

  Proceed straight past the Media Classroom (103) and Computer Commons. Proceed down a short flight of stairs, then turn left. Pass between the printers on the left and the oversize items on the right. At the end of the oversize items shelf, turn right and proceed straight. The study alcoves are on the left.

• Stacks

  Proceed straight past the Media Classroom (103) and Computer Commons. Proceed down a short flight of stairs, then straight. Pass the printers, oversize items, and periodicals. The stacks are on the left and right, continuing to the back of the room.

• McMillen Room

  Proceed straight past the Media Classroom (103) and Computer Commons. Proceed down a short flight of stairs, then straight to the back of the room. The McMillen Room is just ahead.

• Study Rooms

  Proceed straight past the Media Classroom (103) and Computer Commons. Proceed down a short flight of stairs, then straight past the stacks. At the end of the stacks, turn left. The study rooms are ahead on the right.

On the Right

• Classroom 139

  On the right, just inside the entrance

• Water Fountain

  Just inside the entrance, turn right. Proceed straight past Classroom 139. The water fountain is on the right.

• Telephone

  Just inside the entrance, turn right. Proceed straight past Classroom 139. The telephone is on the right, just past the water fountain.

• Mens Restroom

  Just inside the entrance, turn right. Proceed straight past Classroom 139. The mens restroom is on the left.

• Womens Restroom

  Just inside the entrance, turn right. Proceed straight past Classroom 139. The womens restroom is on the left, past the mens restroom.

• Circulation Desk

  Proceed straight past a hallway. The circulation desk is on the right.

• Staff Offices

  Proceed straight past a hallway. The staff offices are on the right, behind the circulation desk.

• Elevator

  Proceed straight past the hallway and circulation desk. The elevator is on the right, just past the circulation desk.

  The elevator is also accessible by proceeding from this location down a short flight of stairs and turning right. The elevator is on the right.

• Study Booths

  Proceed straight past the hallway and circulation desk. Proceed down a short flight of stairs and turn right. The study booths are on the right.

• Reference Materials

  Proceed straight past the hallway and circulation desk. Proceed down a short flight of stairs. The reference materials are ahead and slightly to the right.

• Computers

  Proceed straight past the hallway and circulation desk. Proceed down a short flight of stairs and  turn right. Pass the study booths on the right and the reference materials on the left. At the end of reference materials shelf, turn left. The computers are on the right.

• Study Carrels

  Proceed straight past the hallway and circulation desk. Proceed down a short flight of stairs and  turn right. Pass the study booths on the right and the reference materials on the left. At the end of reference materials shelf, turn left. Proceed straight, past the computers. The study carrels are ahead on the right.

• Stacks

  Proceed straight past the hallway and circulation desk. Proceed down a short flight of stairs, then straight. The stacks are on the left and right, continuing to the back of the room.

• McMillen Room

  Proceed straight past the hallway and circulation desk. Proceed down a short flight of stairs, then straight to the back of the room. The McMillen Room is just ahead.
