Dia de Los Muertos

The Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) is Mexican celebration of life. It focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. The symbol of the skeleton represents the dead playfully mimicking the living.

The Department of Mexican American Studies hosts an annual Dia De Los Muertos celebration. The program includes altars and performances by Mexican American Studies students.
