Graduate Teacher Education Programs

We have a long and rich tradition in the preparation of education professionals.

Graduate Teacher Education

Founded in 1889, our education legacy is ingrained in its teacher preparation. From MAT programs to doctoral studies, we offer a broad spectrum of specializations. We emphasize innovation, cultural diversity and flexibility. We also offer on-campus, off-campus and online delivery options.

College of Education and Behavioral Sciences
Beginning as the State Normal School in 1889 to our status as doctoral high research activity institution today. We are at the center of excellence in preparation, research and educational leadership. UNC has produced more than half of all educators in Colorado and 18 Colorado Teacher of the Year Award winners.

College of Humanities and Social Sciences
The humanities and the social sciences are cornerstones of a liberal arts education. We offer a broad range of disciplines. This gives you a better understanding of the past, present and future roles of both the individual and society.

College of Natural and Health Sciences
You’ll be mentored by faculty who are experts in their fields. You’ll also have meaningful research opportunities in state-of-the-art facilities. Our graduates leave with an education that has prepared them to contribute to society.

Upcoming Virtual Information Sessions

Faculty are hosting several graduate program virtual information sessions. These are designed specifically for working teachers and school professionals who want to advance their skills, credentials or leadership pathways — without stepping away from the classroom. These sessions are purely informational. Current and former UNC students apply for free. Anyone who attends a virtual information session or an appointment with an enrollment counselor will get an application fee waiver code.
