Our program has two concentrations, education and chemistry. Each of these concentrations also has a thesis and non-thesis option.

Education Concentration
With this concentration you’ll develop skills to become more effective in the classroom.

Completion of this degree will increase opportunities for advancement in the education field. It will also provide you advanced training in content and pedagogy. The degree can also qualify graduates to teach at the junior or community college level.

Consider this concentration if you are:

·       Interested in advanced research and learning more about chemistry.

·       Seeking a collegial environment, with one-on-one mentorship from experienced faculty.

·       Interested in teaching chemistry.

Chemistry Concentration
With this concentration you’ll develop independence in the laboratory. You will also learn to deal with chemical literature. You will begin a rigorous foundation in research, lab skills and academic writing. You’ll also have opportunities to publish and present at conferences. You can conduct independent research and collaborate with faculty and fellow students.

Our faculty pride themselves on how they work with students. Whether this is in the classroom, the laboratory or outside of the academic setting. We provide you with a high-quality educational experience. This integrates knowledge and understanding with hands-on training and use of modern instrumentation.
