Graduate Programs at UNC

Gain new skills, advance your professional or academic career or start a new career with a graduate degree from the University of Northern Colorado.

As a public doctoral research institution, we offer a wide range of graduate programs. These span disciplines from health and natural sciences, to education and the performing arts.

However you want to make your impact, we can help you get there.

Three Delivery Options

Depending on the program, you can take classes with one or more of these delivery options.

Locations

  • On campus: In Greeley, with a population of more than 100,000 people, located in Weld County, one of the fastest-growing counties in Colorado.

  • Off campus: We have two off-campus centers, in Loveland and in Denver. Programs can also be delivered in other parts of the state to fill community or school district needs.

  • Online: A classroom that is accessible 24/7.

How Do Hybrid Courses Work?
The simple definition of hybrid learning is that some coursework is completed online and some in-person. The online elements reduce the time you spend in person (compared to an in-person course).

What is “Mostly Online”?
Some of our hybrid programs are “mostly online.” This means that for most of the time you will study fully online. But there is at least some in-person coursework required. This could be a little as a few days, or could be a a few weeks, usually during the summer. Program pages will explain any “mostly online” hybrid delivery.

Outstanding Faculty

You’ll learn from nationally recognized faculty members and regarded industry professionals. These scholars and practitioners are experts at what they do. They publish in top journals, present at national conferences and lead innovative organizations.

Those pursuing thesis and doctoral research will receive close mentorship from your advisor. You’ll also build professional relationships with others in your department and across campus.

Enriching Experiences

Depending on your program, you’ll gain practical experience through:

  • Fieldwork

  • Community service

  • Clinical rotations

  • Case studies

  • Competitions

  • Consulting projects

  • Research and other real-world learning and creative opportunities related to your aspirations.

Our location, coupled with a network of alumni and industry partners, offers you a many places for these experiences.

Each year we host the Graduate Research Symposium. This event showcases the innovative, thought-provoking and creative work from students across disciplines. These projects are often the beginning of what will become lifelong professional endeavors.

A Connected Community

If you’re planning to pursue a campus-based program, you’ll love living and learning in Greeley. Only 50 miles from Denver, our fast-growing city is an incredible place to live and work. You’ll find a vibrant nightlife, a variety of shops and eateries, music venues, breweries, parks and museums.

If you’re joining us from afar, you’ll feel connected to the our community through an interactive online course platform. You’ll also have access to many of the same services and resources as our on-campus students.
