Biography
Teagan Fortune is a dedicated graduate student at the University of Northern Colorado. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2019, laying the foundation for her career in serving vulnerable populations.
Throughout her professional journey, Teagan has exemplified a steadfast commitment to justice and compassion. She has worked extensively in investigative roles focused on addressing abuse, neglect, and exploitation affecting vulnerable communities. Her passion for helping those in need, in conjunction to her personal experiences, led her to seek roles in the realm of the court justice system. Teagan’s experience with the Colorado Judicial Branch reflects her unwavering dedication to placing victims’ interests at the forefront of her work and research interests.
In the spring semester of 2023, Teagan embarked on a new chapter in her academic pursuits by enrolling in the Master of Arts program in Sociology. Her research interests include victimology, gender studies, crime, deviance, and social movements. With an expected graduation date in December of 2024, she is on track to achieve her master’s degree and further her studies with a Ph.D. program. Teagan aspires to work as a professor at a university. Her goal is to continue her research in the areas she is passionate about while nurturing the next generation of scholars. Teagan recognizes the importance of imparting knowledge and skills to empower future generations to make a positive impact on society.
In pursuit of her teaching ambitions, Teagan is concurrently enrolled in a Certificate in College Teaching program. She is poised to obtain this certificate alongside her master’s degree. Teagan’s vision includes a brighter future for others through education and research. When Teagan is not working or studying, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, building new connections, and chillaxing. Teagan has a 6-year-old English Bulldog, Bella, who is always making her laugh with her stubborn and goofy attitude. Above all, Teagan enjoys quality time with those who make life worthwhile.
