Biography

Dr. Seth C. Lummus is a board-certified Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist with subspecialty board certification in Pediatric Pathology and advanced fellowship training in Neuropathology. He brings a diverse background in clinical medicine, pathology, neuroscience, anatomy, and medical education to the University of Northern Colorado College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Lummus earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, graduating Magna Cum Laude with Highest Distinction. He subsequently completed a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences with an emphasis in Anatomy and Physiology at Colorado State University before earning his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and ranked among the top students in his class.

Following medical school, Dr. Lummus completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Colorado, serving as Chief Resident. He then pursued fellowship training in Pediatric Pathology at Children’s Hospital Colorado and Neuropathology at Stanford University. His clinical and research interests span neuropathology, neuroanatomy, pediatric disease, neuro-oncology, medical imaging, and the application of emerging technologies to medical science and education.

An accomplished educator, Dr. Lummus has taught learners at every level—from undergraduate students to medical, dental, and graduate trainees. His academic career has included appointments at the University of Colorado system, where he has taught human anatomy, neuroanatomy, pathophysiology, advanced orthopedic anatomy, and healthcare professions courses. He is passionate about helping students connect foundational sciences with clinical practice and believes that curiosity, critical thinking, and compassion are essential qualities of outstanding physicians.

Dr. Lummus has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations in neuropathology, pediatric pathology, and neuro-oncology. His contributions to medical education and pathology have been recognized through multiple teaching awards, national presentations, and professional honors, including the Harry B. Neustein Award from the Society for Pediatric Pathology and the Dean’s Award from Kansas City University.

As an osteopathic physician and educator, Dr. Lummus is dedicated to mentoring future physicians and fostering an educational environment that emphasizes scientific excellence, patient-centered care, professionalism, and lifelong learning.
