Biography

Dr. Kamlesh Yadav is an accomplished educator and academic leader with more than 20 years of experience in research, medical education, curriculum innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. As Chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Northern Colorado College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNC COM), Dr. Yadav is dedicated to advancing osteopathic medical education through innovative active-learning pedagogies, integrated curriculum design, faculty development, and student-led research.

Previously, Dr. Yadav helped design and deliver preclinical curriculum blending engineering and medicine at the School of Engineering Medicine, Texas A&M University. He led and taught core courses in biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, oncology, and evidence-based medicine, and pioneered the use of AI, flipped classrooms, and team-based learning.

Dr. Yadav earned an M.Tech. from IIT Kanpur and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the NYU School of Medicine, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. His work spans microbiology, translational oncology, genomics, and digital health, with funding from federal and industry sources and 40+ publications in high-impact journals. With a strong record in research, leadership, innovative teaching, and mentoring, he is committed to preparing the next generation of osteopathic physicians and advancing UNC COM’s mission in education and research.
