Biography
Julie Pink grew up in Greeley with a very large family. She was interested in accounting and chose UNC because of its reputation and affordability. After working her way through college thanks to scholarships, multiple jobs, and an internship that provided valuable experience, Julie passed her Certified Public Accountant exam and fulfilled the work experience needed for licensure. With a strong professional foundation established, she sought a new challenge and broader perspective, joining the Peace Corps as an instructor at Masai Technical Training Institute and advisor to business owners in Kenya.
Since that first Peace Corps experience, Julie has become a globally seasoned leader, having lived and worked in Europe, Asia, Mexico, the Caribbean and across the U.S. managing strategic initiatives primarily for telecom and high-tech manufacturing companies. She has held finance, IT and HR leadership positions including CFO and CIO with a manufacturer in the 5G wireless space that was recently acquired.
As a UNC alumna, she is deeply committed to the transformative power of education. In gratitude for the scholarship and internship support she received while at UNC, she established a scholarship to help students pursue technology-based careers and strengthen Colorado’s workforce.
