Biography

Dr. Jenna Finley is a seasoned higher education leader with over two decades of experience advancing student success, equity, and institutional transformation. As Associate Vice President of Student Affairs at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), she provides strategic and innovative leadership to a broad portfolio that includes Housing & Residential  Dining Services, Campus Recreation, Student Engagement, and several scholarship and leadership development programs.

Dr. Finley is widely recognized for building collaborative, high-performing teams and aligning resources with mission-driven goals. She led the development of a new organizational vision for Student Affairs at UNC, grounded in the university’s Rowing, Not Drifting 2030 strategic plan. Her leadership has brought to life an integrated student affairs curriculum focused on identity development, wellbeing, career readiness, and equity. Her efforts have also resulted in transformative changes intended enhance belonging and retention.

Throughout her career, Dr. Finley has played a vital role in campus-wide planning efforts, emergency response, student conduct reform, and co-curricular integration. Her research and publications reflect a commitment to coaching and supporting students through moments of transition and uncertainty. She has presented regionally and nationally on leadership, equity, and student success.

Dr. Finley holds a Doctor of Education from Northeastern University and a Master of Arts in Student Personnel Administration from Ball State University. She remains actively engaged in professional organizations and community initiatives, and has served on numerous boards and institutional committees focused on diversity, retention, strategic enrollment, and leadership development.

Outside of work, Dr. Finley enjoys spending time with her 5 children.  She is an avid trail runner and loves to explore Colorado camping, cycling, and running.
