Biography

Hope Holloway, MS, NIC is a nationally certified ASL-English interpreter based in southeastern Virginia with more than 20 years of experience, primarily in K–12 educational settings. She holds a bachelor’s degree in ASL-English Interpretation from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), with a concentration in educational interpreting and a minor in ASL, as well as a Master of Science in ASL-English Interpreting from the University of North Florida (UNF), where she further specialized in educational interpreting. In her current role, she leads a team of full-time staff and contract interpreters while mentoring new professionals and interpreter interns. She has served in several key positions with Newport News Public Schools, including Lead Interpreter, Mentor, and Internship Supervisor, and is deeply committed to ensuring equitable access and meaningful inclusion for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. She prioritizes student success through collaboration with interpreter teams and related service providers, consistently supporting high-quality services that promote equitable access. A dedicated lifelong learner, she continually seeks innovative ways to strengthen interpreting services and enhance outcomes for the communities she serves.
