Oasis: A Residential Student Mindfulness Retreat
The Oasis Retreat, organized by the University of Northern Colorado’s Mindfulness Teachers Collaborative, sponsored by the Colorado School of Public Health and UNC’s Center for Applied Contemplative Studies, and supported though Colorado House Bill 21-1317, Regulating Marijuana Concentrates, aims to enhance awareness of and provide educational resources and mindfulness-based skills for understanding the impacts of cannabis use, particularly its high-concentration forms. The retreat also focuses on engaging community partners and training facilitators to broaden its impact. By the end, the retreat aims to cultivate a well-informed and proactive approach towards handling stress and substance use, benefiting educators, students, and the wider community alike
