Professional Experience & Affiliations

  • Chris Muscato teaches courses in US and Mexican History at the University of Northern Colorado and has previously taught a range of course at Aims Community College as well. He is the Regional Coordinator of the Northeast Colorado Region for National History Day and is passionate about making history accessible to students of all ages. In addition, he is a co-chair of RightsCon, an international conference focused on human rights in the digital age.

Publications

  • Chris Muscato’s main area of research is state spectacle in late-19th-century/early-20th-century Mexico, with crossover interests in borderland studies and forms of cultural expression in both Mexico and the USA. Chris also studies the history of utopian thinking and literature, as well as the relationships between climate, technology, landscape, memory, and identity.
