If you have questions, you can visit Handshake’s Help Center or email Center for Career Readiness office at Career.Readiness@unco.edu.

As a supporter of UNC, you can have any of these completed by a current student or alum, making it easy to give back and stay productive. Clicking the links to post a project will take you over to the Parker Dewey platform and allow you to make edits before posting your request.

Parker Dewey enables companies to leverage college students and recent grads to complete short-term tasks. These assignments are a great opportunity to develop individuals and get some tasks done that your company may have not had quite enough time for. In addition, companies can identify individuals, including those from diverse or underrepresented backgrounds, and evaluate skills, interests, and fit before committing to a hiring or internship decision.

You can find help for navigating Parker Dewey’s platform in the user guide or learn how to post a project in our step-by-step tutorial.

If you are interested in conducting tabling or interviews on campus, please contact our team at career.readiness@unco.edu.

Employer Helpful Tips and Guides

As Handshake is the centralized platform we use to connect employers with students, you’ll want to ensure that you are connected with us as an approved employer. Once you’ve created an account and requested to connect with UNC, our staff will review your page for approval. Once approved, you’ll be connected to our students and can register for our events.

You can find additional support on how to make a Handshake account on the Handshake help center.

UNC uses Handshake to manage registration for all our career events and fairs. Through Handshake, you will be able to register your organization/company, pay your registration fees, and list who will be representing your organization/company at our event.

A great way to connect with UNC students is to host a virtual event through Handshake. This will give you the opportunity to connect with multiple students without needing to travel to campus.

The following is important information regarding the Center for Career Readiness’ event and policy guidelines for employers.

  • When attending in-person events, consider refraining from greetings that require physical contact, such as handshakes. Instead, consider a wave or a verbal greeting.
  • Remember that all physical contact requires active consent from both parties.
  • Please do not attend or stay at a career fair or career event if you’re feeling sick! Please take care of yourself AND our community by helping to prevent the spread of germs.
  • We are unable to accept new registrations or changes to registrations 1 week prior to an event, or once an event is full, whichever comes first.
  • Registering for the Job, Internship, & Graduate School Fair or K-12 Educator Employment Day(s) is considered a commitment to attend the event and a table will be reserved for your organization.
    • For cancellations more than 15 business days prior to fair/event date, we will refund the event registration fee, minus a $75 administrative fee. Cancellations within 15 business days of the fair/event date will receive no refund.
    • No refund will be issued if registration does not total more than $75.
    • No refunds are issued due to acts of nature (i.e. flooding, heavy snow, traffic issues, university closure, etc.).
    • If your organization cancels, or chooses not to attend this event, and has not paid the registration fee, this cancellation policy still applies and the registration fee is still required. Non-payment will result in becoming ineligible to participate in future Center for Career Readiness events at the University of Northern Colorado, including any on campus-recruiting opportunities.
    • No refunds will be issued for virtual fairs and events.
  • If registration payment is not received, we reserve the right to cancel an organization’s registration.
  • The Center for Career Readiness office reserves the right to deny access and participation to an employer based on previous experiences of our students and/or our office.

In case of inclement weather, please call 970-351-4100. If the university is operating on a regular academic/work schedule or if employees are granted a grace period to arrive, the event will be held as scheduled. Therefore, no requests for release of obligation or refund will be granted. In the rare circumstance that the university is closed (i.e., classes are canceled), the event will be canceled and every attempt will be made to reschedule.
