UNC License Plate Program
Join alumni, parents and friends across Colorado who proudly drive with their Bear pride. The UNC License Plate program is an easy way for you to support UNC student scholarships while showing off your loyalty to the Blue and Gold.
Show Your Bear Pride Wherever You Drive
Display your UNC spirit on the road with an official University of Northern Colorado license plate. Available for vehicles registered in Colorado, this specialty plate is a fun way to show your Bear pride (or to surprise your favorite Bear with a thoughtful gift!).
Your donation goes directly to the UNC Alumni Association Scholarship, which is awarded to several UNC students each year. It’s an easy way to make a difference for today’s Bears while celebrating your UNC connection.
You can make your gift in honor of someone for a graduation, holiday, or any special occasion — just be sure to include the name of the title-holding driver when making your gift online.
Have questions? Contact the Office of Alumni Relations at (970) 351-2551 or alumni@unco.edu.

Scholarship Donation
First, make a $50 scholarship donation to the UNC Colorado License Plate scholarship fund. 100% of your donation is directed to supporting a current student scholarship. You may donate online or in person when you visit University Advancement in Carter Hall.
Take Your Certificate to the DMV
Then, the alumni association will email you a signed group special license plate certificate within 1-2 business days. Take the certificate to your county DMV office, pay a one-time $50 special plate fee to the state, and if you are up for renewal, your standard vehicle registration fee.
Drive with Bear Pride
The state will mail your new UNC License Plates and vehicle registration information to you. Swap out your old plates for your new set, and you’ll be ready to drive with Bear Pride!
