Equal Pay Act
The Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) went into effect January 1, 2021. For information on how UNC is implementing the provisions of this act, please visit our EPEWA page for more information.
Anthem Settlement Information
You may have received or may soon receive an email or postcard notice regarding a settlement of class action claims involving the University’s health insurance carrier, Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield. The settlement may provide recovery rights to members of the UNC community. Based on the federal court’s orders regarding the settlement, Blue Cross Blue Shield is required to notify all potential claimants of the settlement and how they can file a claim.
UNC cannot answer questions or advise employees on what they should do in terms of the settlement. Employees are encouraged to visit the Blue Cross Blue Shield Settlement website to learn more about the settlement and determine whether they want to file a claim.

Modified Summer Work Week
Summer operating hours will begin May 14, 2021 and continue through July 30, 2021.
modified summer workweeks run from the Monday following Spring Commencement through the last
Friday in July. During summer operating hours, the university will close normal business operations at
1:00 p.m. on Fridays. All departments are required to be staffed until 1:00p.m. on Friday for the duration of the summer schedule.
