Get Involved with GSA

GSA seeks representation from master’s, doctoral, specialist and non-degree seeking graduate students.

The GSA has an elected president, who works 18 hours per week as a graduate assistant to lead the organization. Elections typically take place annually.

Students serving as representatives receive a Graduate Dean’s Scholarship of $250 per semester.

The GSA also contributes to the well-being of the graduate community

  • Coordinating numerous social events and professional development programs.
  • Developing campus and community partnerships.
  • Appointing graduate students to campus committees.
  • Providing general support to UNC graduate students.

GRADUATE STUDENT

"I have attended multiple social and professional development events put on by the GSA. These events have given me a sense of community and belonging here at UNC. I have developed friendships and professional connections I would not have if it were not for the GSA."
