D.A. in Music: Collaborative Piano
The program includes coursework in music pedagogy, music theory, history and research. It has a high degree of flexibility to focus your studies on your own interests. The program includes a supervised practicum in college teaching. The program culminates in a dissertation and recitals.

The program provides you with the highest level of professional preparation. You’ll enjoy the freedom to personalize the program. You’ll work with a faculty adviser to tailor your studies to fit your artistic strengths and academic interests. Regardless of your focus area, you’ll deepen your knowledge of jazz. This includes pedagogy, history, improvisation and arranging. You’ll also have opportunities to perform in our renowned jazz ensembles. You’ll complete the degree with two individual recitals and a dissertation based on original scholarship.
