- University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO Professor, Literacy Education. Responsibilities include: teaching graduate courses in reading methods, children’s literature, writing methods and reading research and undergraduate courses in children’s literature. (2009-Present)

- Co-organizer for the UNC Future Teacher Conference and faculty advisor for the Future Teacher Club
- Teacher recruitment and retention, teacher identity, analysis of children’s book displays, content analysis of and response to contemporary picture books, multimodal analysis, visual literacy, multi-genre writing, and disciplinary Literacy
