First-Year Students

Welcome new bears, we are excited to have you join the UNC Bear community! New Student Orientation is for all incoming first-year college students and provides useful information and opportunities to connect with other UNC students.

Due to ongoing concerns and preventative measures regarding COVID-19, UNC's New Student Orientation is virtual for the incoming class of Spring 2021.

Use Headphones

Part of our program contains mature content that isn't suitable for younger audiences. If possible, establish a private space to attend your sessions and/or wear headphones.


Establish Wi-Fi Connection

Wi-Fi and internet access can impact your experience. Consider exploring all options (including alternative locations or hard-wiring your device) to enhance your connectivity.

Now that you've made your reservation, complete the tasks
below to prepare for your sessions.

You will receive the Zoom links for your session via your BearMail a few days in advance of the session.

Login to BearMail

Login to Zoom With BearMail

When you login to Zoom for Virtual Orientation be sure to use your BearMail credentials. Just follow these instructions:

  1. Visit unco.zoom.us
  2. Select "Sign In" and login with your BearMail credentials
  3. Select "Join a Meeting" in the top right
  4. Join the meeting using the meeting ID provided in your schedule email
  5. Rename yourself with your first and last name by:
    hovering over your name in participants or right clicking on your video box
