Graduate Research Symposium combines Graduate Research Evening and the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition.

The fall 2025 Graduate Research Symposium was held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, in the University Center and Campus Commons. The schedule was:

4-4:45 p.m.

5-6 p.m.
Oral Presentations Session 1
Second floor meeting rooms, Campus Commons

Poster Session

3MT® Competition, HLL and Empowering Inclusion Awards

Graduate Research Evening provides graduate students from across the university the opportunity to present their research projects. Participating graduate students are also eligible for the Hutchinson-Lahman Research Award.

The Three Minute Thesis is a professional development competition that spotlights the dissertation or thesis projects of doctoral or master's students at UNC. Students completing a dissertation or thesis in any UNC doctoral or master’s program are eligible to submit a 3MT® proposal. For more information, contact Associate Dean Cindy Wesley
