The journey at UNC and using the GI Bill ® and other military benefits begins here. This process may take up to 6-12 months, so it is never too soon. Whether using the Post 9/11 GI Bill ® or other education benefits like Ch 31, 35, or 1606, Veterans Services is here to help!

Veterans Services is bringing the PAVE Program program to UNC. Peer Advisors for Veteran Education (PAVE) sets up new student veterans with trained Peer Advisors (also student veterans) to assist you in your transition from military to academia. Interested in getting a leg up at UNC?

Meet the Staff: Nathan Barrows

US Army Veteran

Nathan Barrows joined the Army Reserves in September of 2016 as a 92Y (Unit Supply Specialist) and is stationed in Aurora, Colorado.

Nate has worked as a Senior Resident Assistant (SRA) in Housing and Residential Education (HRE). Nate was a Resident Assistant in North Hall in 2018-2019, and has been the SRA since fall of 2019 for Wilson/Wiebking Halls. He was also elected as the Interfraternity Council (IFC) Director of Risk Management, and has been the Alumni Secretary, Risk Management Chair, and has served on the Executive Committee for Lambda Chi Alpha.
