Ornithology Collection
Our collection includes approximately 1700 specimens. Most are species native to Colorado, but the collection also houses some specimens from around the world, including over 550 hummingbird skins collected prior to 1907.

The museum houses about 1500 mammal specimens, most collected in the Western United States.

Herpetology Collection
Our collection includes approximately 1700 specimens, the majority of which are reptiles. Snakes of the Rocky Mountain West are especially well-represented.

We have a teaching collection of Colorado fishes.
Intervertebrate Collections
Our mollusk shell collection includes over 800 lots with global diversity. Other invertebrates are represented in our teaching collection.
