David Greene, Ph.D., has been living with type 1 diabetes for over 50 years. He combined his personal experience with his professional during his undergraduate program in psychology (Colorado State University), master’s program in Psychology, Counseling and Guidance (University of Northern Colorado), and Ph.D. in Human Resource Development (Colorado State University).

While serving as the program director for adult outpatient and emergency services at Larimer County Mental Health, he provided counseling services for people with chronic illnesses, especially diabetes. For 23 years, he was professor of psychology at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas, and recently returned to Colorado as director of UNC's Human Services Program. David conducts research on diabetes related issues.
