• Tuesday, Aug. 25

  6 p.m. - 8 p.m. - Virtual Student Involvement Fair! Join the CWGE and other campus organizations to learn more about who we are, what we do, and the resources we offer.

September

• Thursday, Sept. 3

  11 a.m.- Mini Student Consciousness Raising! Join us as we hold a smaller version of our I Need Feminism Because... Student Consciousness Raisings to discuss topics related to intersectionality, feminism, gender and more.

  This event will be an initial introduction into what Student Consciousness Raisings are, why we do them, and what they have to do with feminism, especially in our current political climate.

  1 p.m. - Feminist Crafting! Join us as we engage the UNC community in a new program to our INFB... campaign, Feminist Crafting! We will be carving out space for self-care while creating a mini-zine that contains various positive affirmations and answering any questions about feminism!

  We will continue to post virtual crafting videos over the semester as we examine feminism through an intersectional lens and identify ways we can advocate for gender equity.

  11 a.m. - Student Consciousness Raising! Join us for conversation and discussion on topics related to intersectionality, feminism, gender and more.

  We will be discussing Kimberlé Crenshaw's podcast Intersectionality Matters: Episode 9. Please listen to prior to the event. 

• Wednesday, Sep. 23

  4 p.m. - UNITE: Sexism & Gender Justice! Join us as we explore key ideas and issues associated with gender, gender justice and feminism.

October

• Thursday, Oct. 8

  11 a.m. - Feminist Crafting: Crafting with Resistance! Join us as we engage the UNC community in another segment of Feminist Crafting: Crafting with Resistance! We will be carving out space for self-care while creating a DIY project as we examine feminism through an intersectional lens and identifying ways we can advocate for gender equity.

  We will be celebrating UNC's Homecoming Week by creating string art of the UNC letters and/or the UNC Bear and discussing ways that we can "smash" the patriarchy! After attending this event, students will be able to engage in conversations about how persons can be excluded from/treated differently in certain spaces/settings (ie. hardware stores), how gender norms play a role in our society, and the impact it creates.
