The "Call Dibs" Campaign allows current students living on-campus to self-select housing and dining for the upcoming academic year 2022-23. We're sharing this information with you in case you receive questions and/or if students are looking for housing & dining options.
Advisor Action Items:
- Review the Call Dibs processand deadlines to share with students during appointments
- Note that students who moved off-campus and would like to return to housing have the option.
Please warn students that some off-campus housing properties use the phrase "student housing" in their advertising. Only the housing properties listed at unco.edu are university affiliated.
Process & Deadlines
Beginning Thursday February 3
Current Resident Students may select a DIFFERENT ROOM anywhere on campus. This process continues throughout the spring 2022 semester.
Continuing through June 2022
Students WHO HAVE MOVED OFF-CAMPUS and would like to return to campus housing May do so at any time. They will need to submit a NEW housing application along with the $100 housing deposit.
On-Campus Housing Benefits
Students might find living on campus less stressful than finding local housing as rent, food, and transportation costs increase.
Location
Living on-campus reduces the need for vehicles, parking, and adding time to your student's daily commute.
Inclusive room & board
Moving off-campus to rental properties often includes unexpected and often higher expenses such as utilities (heating and cooling) and management of any facilities issues which can be time-consuming.
Flexible lease terms
If a student's plans change or are graduating mid-academic year (December), on-campus lease agreements will accommodate these plans. Most often if students who live off-campus will sign a 12-month lease agreement and need to find someone to sub-let the apartment (if the lease allows it).
