The UNC Office of Engagement is pleased to announce the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has selected UNC as one of 240 US colleges and universities to receive its 2015 Community Engagement Classification. UNC is among 83 institutions to earn first time classification, and is one of only three universities in Colorado to hold the designation (Colorado State and the University of Denver are the others.).
The Carnegie Engagement Classification supports a central value of our institution and mission and provides substance and recognition, informed by national norms. Furthermore, being recognized as an engaged campus brings recognition to the important work we do on a daily basis, increases grant opportunities, supports recruitment, and promotes a diverse campus, all of which strengthen our existing and future partnerships in communities locally and globally.
