Education

Maria received her undergrad from the Universidad de Costa Rica in Psychology and her Master's from the same in Sports and Exercise Science. She is currently working on her doctorate in Social Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity here at the University of Northern Colorado. 

Professional/Academic Experience

Maria is interested in Physical Activity & Psychological well-being, Mindful Physical Activity, and culturally responsive education and P.A. with unique populations (e.g eating disorders, history of trauma, veterans). She also works at UNC Campus Recreation and the Active Schools Lab. Her personal interests include yoga, running, time outdoors, books and coffee!!

Research/Areas of Interest

Maria is currently working on her dissertation on yoga and the psychological well being of military veterans.
