Fellow Bears,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tamra English, J.D., as the University of Northern Colorado’s next general counsel and secretary to the Board of Trustees, effective June 10. This appointment follows a national search launched in January.

Tamra comes to UNC from The University of Texas System, where she has worked in the Office of General Counsel since 2012. Most recently, Tamra served as assistant vice chancellor and managing counsel, leading a team of attorneys and administrative professionals and providing legal advice and counsel to The University of Texas System and its academic and health institutions. Before joining The University of Texas System, Tamra spent 14 years as an attorney in private practice.

I am excited to welcome Tamra to my leadership team. She brings over 12 years of experience in public higher education and a firm grasp of the current and evolving legal landscape facing colleges and universities. Tamra also brings a deep commitment to UNC’s mission and values, and I am confident that she will help advance our priorities as we enter the third phase of our Rowing, Not Drifting 2030  strategic plan.

Tamra received her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and her Juris Doctor degree from Baylor School of Law. As general counsel and secretary to the board, Tamra will lead the Office of General Counsel and provide in-house legal advising services to the university and the Board of Trustees. She succeeds Dan Satriana, who has been serving as interim general counsel and secretary to the board since June 2023 after previously having served in the role for 12 years. I want to thank Dan for his dedication to UNC.

Please join me in congratulating Tamra.

Sincerely,

 Andy Feinstein.
