New Employees

Welcome to UNC! We are so happy to have you join our community of bears. 

The list below is made to help walk you through the steps you need to take as a part of the onboarding process. If, at any point, in the process you have questions, please reach out to Human Resources - human.resources@unco.edu or call us at 970-351-2718.

    Some general resources to help you on your first day:

    • Campus Map
      • Need to find a building? Type its name and it will appear on the map.

      • Information on wireless access, email, and general account info.
  • 1. Benefits

    Within your first week, please reach out to our benefits specialist to ensure you are properly enrolled in UNC's health insurance and retirement plans. 

    Payroll - Visit Payroll's website to setup tax deductions, direct deposit, and to learn general information about pay periods.

  • 2. Orientation

    Our New Hire Orientation has been split into two pieces. A virtual session that employees can complete at their own pace, and an in-person session to answer questions and receive a more in-depth experience. 

    Virtual 

    • Once you have your first.last email address, please register and complete the online session of the orientation (within 30 days of hire). This session will offer information about general policies and procedures at UNC. 
    • REGISTER - NEW HIRE ORIENTATION
      *Note: you MUST register with your UNC first.last email to access the training session. 

    In-person

    • The in-person session will generally happen on the third Monday of each month at 9:00 a.m. 
    • Sessions will start in Carter Hall (1st floor lobby). 
    • New employees will receive a calendar invite one week before the session
    • *Please encourage new hires to complete the virtual session before the in-person session. 
  • 3. Compliance

    Lastly, you will need to complete a series of compliance courses.
