Trustees Announce Presidential Leadership Characteristics, Search Firm

November 1, 2017

The University of Northern Colorado Board of Trustees announced the presidential leadership characteristics sought in the next president during a special meeting Wednesday, Nov. 1.

The nine characteristics were informed by the presidential search committee, consisting of trustees and six faculty, staff and student representatives, and by a survey that solicited feedback from campus, community and alumni.

The leadership characteristics are available here.

Trustees also announced the selection of an executive search firm. Storbeck/Pimentel & Associates will assist the search committee with recruitment and advertising the position to increase the pool of qualified candidates. During the spring semester, the search committee will screen, interview and identify candidates to recommend to the board. Trustee chairman Dick Monfort said that the intent is to hire a new president by mid-April.

The board will meet next Nov. 17-18 (work session and regular meeting).
