UNC Homecoming Weekend Begins Friday

The University of Northern Colorado is celebrating Homecoming Oct. 1-6 with a variety
of events.
On Friday, Oct. 5, highlights include a campus tour for the 50-year reunion of the
Class of 1968 and lunch with UNC President Andy Feinstein. UNC’s Athletics Hall of
Fame induction ceremony will be at 5:30 p.m. in the University Center followed by
a bonfire and pep rally at 8 p.m. at Bishop-Lehr field.
On Saturday, Oct. 6, the Bears Fan Fest and Tailgate will help mark the 50-year anniversary
of the Monfort College of Business as part of the college’s yearlong celebration.
Students will be collecting canned food and monetary donations for “Cans to Candelaria,”
from 9 a.m.-noon at Candelaria Hall. The annual UNC Homecoming 5K walk/run will begin
at 8:30 a.m. (race-day registration opens at 7:30 a.m.).
In the traditional Saturday Homecoming football game, the Bears will face UC Davis
