Dr. Low olds a Ph.D. in Chinese and Comparative Literature, master's degree in both Chinese Language and Literature and a bachelor's degree in Chinese Studies. Low is an expert in medieval Chinese literature and civilization. Her research includes literature of displacement and war, early historiography, strange and early fiction along with historical poetry from the medieval period of Chinese history. Low is also a co-founder of the Colorado Chinese Language Teachers Consortium, established the Chinese Language and Asian Studies programs at UNC and has been influential in UNC’s Chinese study abroad program.
