    UNC President Kay Norton Interviewed for Radio Segment on Immigration 

    UNC President Kay Norton appeared on Colorado Public Radio for a segment on the program Colorado Matters that examined what Colorado needs from immigration reform.

    “The single biggest thing that we would hope would come from our federal government is some kind of clarity and simplification of our immigration laws, which are incredibly complex,” Norton told the show’s host Ryan Warner. “And most specifically, from our point of view, protection of our students who are not documented, who really have Dreamer status, who were brought here to this country by others and are a great place for us to invest in the future of nation.”

    Norton served on a statewide strategic panel in 2009 that offered a set of recommendations to address immigration reform. Last fall, she also joined a list of presidents representing hundreds of colleges and universities throughout the country in support of continuation of DACA
