ASLS Major Receives National Collegiate Honors Council Fellowship

A junior honors major in Speech Language-Pathology, Gabriela Mazstarlez, was recently awarded the $5,000 2020 Portz Fellowship from the National Collegiate Honors Council. Her winning project is titled "Accent Modification and Identity: A Phenomenological Study Exploring the Experiences of International Students and Immigrants/Refugees." Gabriela's faculty thesis advisor is Christina Farrell.

The committee expressed to Gabriela in her selection notification email that they were "impressed with [her] preparation, [her] deep engagement in honors, and evident enthusiasm for [her] project."
