Adaptive Technology

The University of Northern Colorado offers Adaptive Technology use and training for students registered with Disability Support Services. DSS also assists students who receive alternative text such as audio format, Braille and/or enlarged print.

There is an adaptive technology room available on the main floor of Michener Library in room 117L. This room is open the same hours as the library and can be accessed by checking out the key at the Circulation Desk. For more information about library services for individuals with disabilities, please visit the Michener Library's website.

For more information about the software and devices available at DSS please review our Adaptive Technology Guide.

If you have any questions about Adaptive Technology at UNC please email the Adaptive Technology Coordinator at DSSTechnology@unco.edu.

Books in Alternative Formats

Books to Audio

Alternative format is an accommodation offered to qualifying students. It is important that students requesting books in alternative format submit their requests as soon as possible each semester.

Before picking up your materials you will be required to sign a Student Responsibility Agreement regarding use.

Other Reading Assignments

Assigned reading material, handouts, and other classroom material that is needed in accessible format can be submitted to DSS in person or via e-mail.

Submit a Request Form

Before students can drop a book or reading assignment to be processed, they must fill out a Alternate Format Request Form and submit by dropping it off at the office or emailing it to DSSTechnology@unco.edu. Requests are processed in the order in which they are received.
