Hawai'i to Colorado

Quentin's story could be yours

Like many Hawai‘i students, Quentin Choy decided to head out of state for college so he could experience another part of the world. His requirements: great quality, low cost, and a place where people would value him and his contributions. He found that at the University of Northern Colorado.

The first time he came to campus was a few days before summer orientation, and we know he’s not the only one to make a college decision without the benefit of a visit or two or three. So we want to give you some resources to help you get to know UNC and the surrounding location.

To start with, what is Colorado like? Think mountains and plains. Think pine trees and snow. Think warm, dry summers and brisk, sunny winters.

Whether your family has lived in Hawaii for generations or you arrived six months ago, we know there are pros and cons of leaving for college. But if you think you’re ready for a new adventure, in a new place, with new people, and an academic experience that will challenge you to be the best you can be in your career and life, then the University of Northern Colorado could be the perfect place for you.

WUE Rates. Guaranteed.

At UNC, if you come from a state or territory (including Hawai'i) that is part of the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE), you’re eligible for WUE tuition, which is about 150 percent of resident tuition (and thousands less than nonresident rates).

If you earn an admission-based scholarship at UNC, that will be combined with your WUE tuition rate to make your cost even lower. Both WUE tuition rates and admission-based scholarships are awarded automatically when you apply — no need to fill out extra paperwork.

Student Life at UNC

There's a lot that makes life at UNC great. With sporting events, shows on campus and outdoor activities and a thriving Hawai'i Club — not to mention everything else Greeley and Colorado have in store for you — you'll be sure to find plenty of opportunities that will make you feel right at home.

Explore Student Life at UNC

Imagine yourself at the University of Northern Colorado.

At the University of Northern Colorado, you will build your life on campus, but a big part of that life is informed by the city you will call home. Student life here on campus is surrounded by big-box retailers as well as the unique-to-Greeley shops found downtown. The arts are important to UNC, but they're equally important to the City of Greeley
