Services

Our staff strive to give every patient optimum healthcare. We can assist with:

  • Illness
  • Sore throat
  • Upper Respiratory Infections
  • Gynecological examinations, contraception support and obstetric care

To obtain oral contraceptives (birth control pills, etc.) from the Health Clinic, we require yearly pelvic exams, including pap smears and history updates.  We can perform these in the Health Clinic.  Alternatively, you can bring copies of exams and Pap smear results from your private physician, and one of our providers will review them.  If you have a prescription from a physician outside of the Health Clinic, contact the Health Clinic at 970-351-2412 to see if your prescription can be refilled in our Drug Outlet.

Obstetric care (also known as OB care or pregnancy care) is not available at the University Health Clinic. OB care is a covered benefit under the UNC insurance plan. If you are on the UNC student health insurance plan and need to see an OB/GYN, contact the Student Health Insurance Office at 970-351-1915 (https://www.unco.edu/student-health-insurance-program/) for further information regarding this covered benefit and to find participating OB/GYN physicians in your area.

Both long-term muscle tension and sudden impacts such as a fall, a car accident, or a sports injury can pull and hold your joints out of normal alignment. These misalignments can disrupt nerve transmissions. Symptoms like pain, inflammation, numbness, or tingling are often experienced.

Our office uses Chiropractic, Acupuncture and Massage Therapy to increase joint motion and decrease pain and inflammation.

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you may have a soft tissue injury:

    • Muscle stiffness or spasm
    • Neck, mid or lower back pain
    • Headaches or memory loss
    • Fatigue and/or difficulty sleeping
    • Numbness/Tingling

We may be able to assist by providing massage therapy, physical rehabilitation/therapy, diagnostics/X-ray, muscle testing, and range of motion testing.

  • Limited Telehealth

We offer telehealth appointments primarily for prescription refills and follow-up visits with established patients. In some cases, an in-person visit may be necessary to ensure you receive the best care. While telehealth is a convenient option, certain conditions and situations require an in-clinic evaluation.

We can also support students with some chronic illnesses (for example, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, thyroid disorders, and high cholesterol).  If you have a chronic illness, we can assess your situation and let you know if we can help, or we will provide you with referrals to off-campus care.
