Professional/Academic Experience

My name is Nicola J. Anglo-Raymundo and I am from Westminster, Colorado. My major is in English Secondary Education with a Culturally Linguistic and Diverse (CLD) Endorsement. My goal for now after receiving my bachelor’s degree is to receive my teaching licensure and go into grad school. Although I’m still deciding in which field I want my master’s to be in. But ultimately, I want to purse a Ph.D. in either Literature or Education. After this, I want to become a professor that teaches teacher candidates. What inspired me to become a teacher was that when I was younger, I was performing below grade level in writing and reading. But my teachers at the time never gave up on me and created a special program to help me grow as a student. But most importantly, my teachers saw that I grow as a person as well and wanted me to become more confident in myself. After this point in my life, I realized that teachers have a higher purpose beyond the classroom and I wanted to help other students in the same way. An interesting fact about me is that I was named after the actor, Nicolas Cage.
