Volunteer Notetakers

  • I volunteered to be a notetaker. What do I do now?

    The first step is to register as a note-taker, to do this go to-

    Once there please scroll down to the Peer Notetaker section, once there click on the Peer Note-taker Registration button. The process will then take you to the Notetaker sign up page. Follow through the process and sign the contract, be sure to select the class and reward to finish the process. If you have issues logging back in please go to the DRC homepage on go.unco.edu/drc and select the DRC Online login button. If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

  • How do I upload my notes?

    You will upload your notes to DRC Online, to do so please log into DRC Online and then go to the Notetaker tab and click on the Upload and View Notes. There you will upload your notes, you will have to slect the class you are uploading notes for, then the week, and the day.

  • What if I'm taking Hand Written notes in a class, or I can't type the notes?

    If you are a notetaker and taking Hand Written notes you can still submit them easiliy. Notetakers can take a picture of them, or scan them, then email it to themselves, and then upload them to DRC Online.

  • What do I get for being a note-taker?

    Being a notetaker is a satisfying experience and we want to make sure that your efforts are rewarded. For being a notetaker you are eligible to receive one of the following: $45 in Bear Bucks*, A UNC Hoodie, or 45 Hours of Service. You will receive your reward for your service during the last week of classes. Make sure that you stop into the DRC office to pick it up!

    *Bear Bucks can only be received once per year. Students are encouraged to pick another reward for serving as a note-taker.


Students Receiving Notes

  • I gave my Professor my accommodation letter. What happens now?

    Once you give a professor your Accommodation Letter, or have sent one out via DRC Online, you still have to fill out the Notetaker request form either online or in our office. Once we have your request we will work to find you notetakers in your classes and link you with their notes.

  • How do I get my notes from the notetakers?

    Once we have found a notetaker for your class you will receive an email whenever notes have been uploaded. When you receive that email you can log into DRC Online and go to the Notetaking Services section.

  • What if my notetaker isn't uploading notes?

    If you see that notes have not been uploaded within 48 hours of the class, the first step is to let our office know. You can email the Adaptive Technology Coordinator at DRCTechnology@unco.edu or you can call the main office at 970-351-2289. We will get in contact with your notetaker to have them upload notes. If they can no longer continue as the notetaker we will work with your professor to find another source of notes for your class.

  • Will the Notetaker know who I am?

    The notetaker does not have access to view who the student is receiving or accessing notes.
