UNC Research Planning, Reports and Statistics

The University of Northern Colorado is a doctoral research university, classified by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education as "Doctoral Universities: Higher Research Activity" (R2). UNC's Carnegie Classification changed with the 2015 update, released on Feb. 1, 2016, advancing from "Doctoral/Research Universities" (R3) to "Doctoral Universities: Higher Research Activity" (R2). UNC was one of only 16 universities nationwide that was promoted into the "Higher" category.
