Human Resources - FY18 Preview
Director of Human Resources Marshall Parks will share a preliminary outlook for the
fiscal year 2017–18 budget, including next steps for implementing the exempt banding
project and UNC’s Compensation Identity.

Working with the Media
Director of University News and Public Relations Nate Haas will discuss UNC’s approach
to media relations, explain how to respond to an open records request and share tips
for working with reporters.

Fall 2017 Enrollment Strategies and Outlook
Provost Robbyn Wacker, University and External Relations VP Dan Weaver and representatives
from UNC’s enrollment planning team will give an update on ongoing work to grow undergraduate
and graduate enrollment, discuss how the university will support additional students
and invite suggestions about the future efforts.

Campus Commons
Provost Robbyn Wacker will give an progress report on Campus Commons construction,
share a preview of what will be happening on the construction site in the coming weeks
and discuss ongoing operational planning to prepare for the opening of the Commons.

Human Resources
Marshall Parks, Director of Human Resources will be updating the campus community
on a variety of items including: Changes in the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime
rules and the impact on UNC employees. A recap of the Exempt Classification/Banding
project and next steps. He will provide an update on FY 17 exempt pay increase distribution
and an update on Insurance renewal update for 2017

State of the University Discussion
President Kay Norton’s annual State of the University Address and campus lunch will
be September 7. She will join PASC afterward for a follow-up discussion. Details about
how to RSVP for the State of the University Address lunch will be in UNC Today the
first week of fall semester.

Campus Community and Climate
Vice President for Campus Community and Climate Katrina Rodriguez will share an update
on the Campus Climate Initiative, solicit feedback on issues identified in the PASC/CSC
employee survey, and talk about UNC’s efforts to systemically support and coordinate
community building, campus climate and diversity efforts.
November 2, 10 - 11am, UC Council Room
Marketing
Vice President for External and University Relations Dan Weaver and Assistant Vice
President for Marketing Jason Hughes will share an update on UNC’s marketing efforts,
talk about new initiatives to help recruit students for Fall 2017, and solicit input
regarding UNC’s ongoing and upcoming marketing efforts.

Fundraising
Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations Wayne Webster will give an overview
of UNC’s fundraising and alumni operations, discuss how the university identifies
fundraising priorities, share an update on efforts to raise funds for the Campus Commons,
discuss next steps for fundraising at UNC and answer questions.
