About Me

Year: Junior

Major/Minor: Elementary Education (CLD emphasis); Special Education, History

Involvement: I am currently in the Honors Interdisciplinary Program, a Stryker scholarship recipient, work at the UC Information desk, and participate in Earth Guardians.

Why I want to be a part of Student Senate: I am a first generation college student. Almost half of UNC’s students are first generation, however there are not enough resources on campus. Although UNC does offer workshops and programs, I would love to see more. Workshops on scholarships and FAFSA, bringing awareness to resources such as bear pantry, etc. I want to make sure all students feel the inclusivity UNC has to offer.

Qualities/Experiences: This being my third year at UNC I have lots of experience in classes throughout the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. I am currently in a TESL and SS/LIT practicum. Using these experiences will help as a guiding stone for this position. I am friendly, flexible, and responsible. Listening to others, especially with empathy, is a skill I pride myself in.

2022-2023 Goals

As stated above, I hope to create more opportunities for first generation students to receive the support they need to be successful here at UNC. Sustainability is also a mission I hope to pursue. Although UNC is working towards a more sustainable future, I have ideas I would love to bring to the table to help progress the movements we are making now. I want to work with my peers to resolve any problems that may be seen in our college or classrooms.
