Leadership Studies Minor 

The Leadership Studies Minor consists of 18 credit hours. 9 of those hours consist of the Core Leadership Classes while the other 9 are Elective Credits. Below are the requirements for completing a Leadership Studies Minor. Contact Dr. Tom Endres, Program Coordinator, to learn more about the program. Core Leadership Courses  (9 credits)

LEAD 100 –Introduction to Leadership (3 credits)

Course Description: An introduction to contemporary leadership theory and practice through engaged leadership opportunities and interdisciplinary leadership texts.


LEAD 200 – Risk and Change in Leadership (3 credits)

Course Description: This course, which provides experiential learning opportunities, explores the core concepts of risk and change that inform the complex nature of engaged leadership.

LEAD 492 Leadership Internship (1-3 credits – with 1 credit minimum for minor)

Other 492 prefix Internship courses if approved by the Leadership Minor Coordinator.  Must include a leadership component and comply with other LEAD492 requirements.  

Course Description: This course offers variable credit in an approved study abroad and/or internship. Repeatable, maximum of 6 credits.
Senior Seminar (2 credits)

LEAD 497 Senior Leadership Seminar (2 credits)—Global Justice and Responsiveness

Course Description: Serves as the culminating experience for students who have declared a leadership minor.  This course is designed to provide an opportunity for students to synthesize information learned throughout the program by focusing on application in a global justice and responsiveness context.
