About Rowen

Rowen has been an educational consultant, public speaker, educator, worker-cooperative co-owner, and coach with over a decade of facilitation experience. Their work spans disciplines but focuses on the experiences of individuals with historically marginalized or minoritized identities, especially queer, transgender, and gender non-conforming people of color. They use humor, empathy, and honesty to empower all in a shared pursuit of justice, liberation, community, and dismantling systemic oppression.

Rowen is the inaugural Associate Director of the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC), a former Graduate Assistant for the GSRC, and a Ph.D. Candidate in the Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership and Applied Statistics and Research Methods programs at UNCO. They are an arts-infused qualitative methodologist and community-driven researcher whose background in philosophy informs their work on the ethics of research and applied research methods. Rowen is an artist, slam poet, and non-monogamous relationship anarchist whose personal and professional work focuses on healing and reintegration of whole personhood through liberatory justice.
