Hello everyone! My name is Melisa Valtierra Tuttle, and I am super excited to be a part of this great program. I am a Mexican native, born in Leon, Guanajuato, and raised in Rawlins, Wyoming. Growing up as a first-generation student, I always wanted to get a college degree from the state’s only university. I attended the University of Wyoming to complete not one degree but, going for number three. I am currently enrolled in the doctoral program in Higher Education Administration. I have worked in higher education for close to 10 years, and I love working with students as they inspire me to continue my education. I am very grateful to share my experiences within this new role and to work at UNC in this capacity as Colorado is super close to my heart. I also love animals including my two dogs, Dot, and Harley, going hiking and biking with my husband, and watching live sporting events.

I cannot wait to help students in this program and to see them graduate from UNC!
