Military Affiliated Student Organizations

UNC is proud to host a variety of military affiliated student organizations on campus. These organizations host military awareness events, assist with resources, and conduct community outreach and service projects. Success comes with teamwork and these student organizations are here to help you succeed.

Peer Mentor Program

The Peer Mentor Program connects military affiliated upper division students with lower division or transfer students. Mentors ease the transition to academic life, identify challenges and refer mentees to appropriate resources. Mentors and mentees are matched at the beginning of fall or spring semester.

Mentors are military affiliated students in their 3rd year (or more) and have completed at least 1 year at UNC. They commit to one semester (around 12 – 15 hours) and build relationships with new students and assist in providing resources.

Mentees are also military affiliated students who are new to UNC or unfamiliar with the resources available.

To apply to become a mentor or a mentee, please download and complete the Application Form. Contact Veterans Services more more information.
