From the Bear Network

UNC Theatre Education and Theatre Studies student, Evette Srouji, is dynamic to say the least. Having served on student advisory boards, a student group dedicated to promoting diversity and equity on and off stage, among others, she is dedicated to trailblazing for the next generation of UNC students. This summer, she became the first UNC student to be selected as the Colorado Shakespeare Festival Theatre Management intern.

From tacos to music and tourism, University of Northern Colorado (UNC) alumni have been enriching the Greeley community for decades and helping students get in on the action, too. With more than 200 alumni working in top executive positions as business owners, CEOs, presidents and more throughout the city, the Bear Network continues to reach new heights.

April is National Volunteer Month and UNC is is grateful to the many volunteers who supported student success this academic year.

Before Title IX was enacted by Congress in June 1972, female student-athletes and coaches at UNC had already begun blazing a trail for the student-athletes and coaches who were to follow them. A group of female coaches and student-athletes — determined to advance women’s athletic teams at UNC — made change happen and opened doors for women’s athletics with limited resources and in the face of systemic resistance.
