About the Board

The Board of Trustees for the University of Northern Colorado consists of nine members and is the governing authority for the University of Northern Colorado.

Seven Board members are appointed by the Governor of the State of Colorado for 4 year terms. The eighth member is a member of the faculty at large of the University of Northern Colorado elected by the faculty at large for a term of one year. The ninth member of the Board is a full-time junior or senior student at the University of Northern Colorado elected by the student body.

Both the Faculty and Student Trustees serve for one year beginning July 1, and ending June 30 of each fiscal year and are advisory, without the right to vote. Each trustee takes and subscribes to the Oath of Office prescribed by the Colorado Constitution before entering upon the duties of his office. This oath is kept on file in the Office of the Secretary of State.
